About Us

We are Experienced

Like most things in life, legal trouble rarely arises when we’re ready for it. Bad news is delivered in the middle of the night, accidents happen on the way to the work and in a blink of an eye you’re facing a legal dispute.

It’s because of life’s unpredictability that I make a point of answering my phone 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. When you run into a life-altering problem, you need questions answered and legal advice on how to proceed, not a voice recording informing you to call back during office hours. In the same sense, sometimes life may prevent you from coming to my office but that’s alright. If you can’t come to me, I’ll come to you at home, in the hospital, at jail or wherever else you may be. No matter which direction your case takes, I will walk you through each step of the legal process.

About H. Kyle Fletcher

The Fletcher Law Firm

History has always been one of my biggest fascinations and reading enjoyments. As a kid, I loved my history classes and learning all there was to know about, past wars, American presidents, world politics, and any other historical piece of knowledge I could get my hands on. I studied the way life and society has progressed over time. I couldn’t help but feel intrigued by the people who forged major changes in the evolution of society.

The more I learned about our nation’s past, the more I grew to admire several historical figures — namely those who contributed to the United States Constitution—James Madison, Alex Hamilton, Abraham Lincoln. These men were brilliant, ambitious, and they knew they were forging history. I was inspired to find a way to put my own intellect and ambition to good use and representation, just as they had done.

As I looked around my small Virginia town for inspiration, there seemed to only be two people who fit the bill for my aspirations — our town’s two lawyers. I was a kid at the time, so I never actually got to know them, but I had a certain idea in my mind that they had to be like Madison—brilliant. After all, they were widely respected and known for their intellect. Later in life, I would cross paths with a multitude of practicing attorneys and I quickly realize most of them were not like James Madison. Funny enough though that discovery only pushed me farther toward law school. I didn’t feel intimidated by the knowledge of my soon to be competition. I was ready to start making my own mark in the history of the legal world.

“My work is about obtaining justice for those facing adversity. My job is to use my 25 years of experience to control your case for the best possible outcome.”

Seeking to Make a Difference

After I became an attorney, I began working with a general practice law firm in South Florida. This opportunity exposed me to a variety of legal fields. I gained experience with the legal processes of Family Law, handling criminal, divorce, personal injury, and guardianship cases. I started attending court as co-counsel, learning how to pick a jury, prepare for trial, and present evidence in court.

Several years later, I decided to relocate Central Florida. I began working as Senior Attorney for the Department of Juvenile Justice. During my time at the Department, I worked to help keep approximately two thousand families out of the dependency/juvenile system. I also assisted in the implementation of Florida’s CINS-FINS (Children in Need of Services, Families in Need of Services) program.

My experience and accomplishments in family services continued to grow, as well as my reputation in understanding the complicated nuisances of family and guardianship law. Up to this point, nothing in the legal work I had accomplished jumped out to say, Hey Kyle, this is it! This is your niche. Rather, what I discovered is that with each new client a new set of challenges came along. With each new client there is a new opponent. With each new client there are different life circumstances, different needs, hopes, strategies, and outcomes. And it is this constant change that exposes me to new ways, and new insights. It also demands I keep my legal education current and always expanding. I soon realized, like the historical figures I admired, the array of legal knowledge I had obtained helped me to assist others. I was putting my own intellect and ambition to good use and representation.

The culmination of my experience in life, both personal and professional, have resulted into the practice I lead today, The Fletcher Law Firm. Since my childhood, I have been captivated by our justice system. Since my oath to solemnly swear that I will support, obey and defend the Constitution of the United States and the Constitution of Florida, I have vigorously fought on behalf of those facing criminal charges, and those filing civil charges, dealing with issues such as divorce, guardianship, contested guardianship, injuries in and out of the workplace, and much more. While I realize I am nowhere near the brilliance of Madison or writing the Constitution, I would like to think I am making a difference. It is certainly what I strive to achieve each day.

What we do

Practice Areas

Family Law

Filing for divorce in Florida does not require show of cause. Florida Law permits the cause for divorce action to be filed as “Irretrievably Broken,” which does not require both parties agree to the dissolution. For couples, who have no children or no significant assets and have been married for a short duration, this process can be simple.

Workers' Compensation

In the world of workers’ compensation, an open-and-shut case is one where your injury is very minor, you miss little to no work, have no out-of-pocket expenses, your employer is cooperating, and your injury isn’t affecting a pre-existing condition. If any of those statements aren’t true, you should contact a Workers’ Compensation attorney.

Personal Injury

Whether you’ve had a car accident, slipped and fell or suffered an injury through the negligence of another, such as at a retail store, theme park, grocery store or any other public venue, you may be entitled to recover damages for your medical bills and lost wages, as well as your pain and suffering.

Guardianship

If you have a loved one, such as a parent, who is starting to suffer from dementia or show signs of other incapacitates and disabilities, someone will need to step-in and become their legal advocate. To protect and prevent harm to our loved ones, Florida law allows a family member or other concerned person to become the legal Guardian over the vulnerable individual.

Dependency

If you are a parent or guardian confronted with a DCF dependency investigation or charges, you are facing serious consequences–the greatest of which could be the termination of your parental rights. It is possible to enter into a “safety plan” with DCF to avoid having a shelter or dependency petition filed against your family.

Criminal Law

Our criminal justice system can be overwhelming and frightening. If you face the possibility of being accused of a crime, or if you have been charged with a crime, it is imperative you hire an attorney. State and Federal charges are very different, and, in some cases, you can be charged federally and then again by the state. Charges can run consecutively or concurrently.
